Me and Blythe

My daughter, Blythe, turns 16 today. IT is hard to believe that 16 years ago I was in the hosptial giving birth to the greatest blessing in my life.

We had a pirate themed family party for her last night which is why I am wearing an eye patch in the picture. Blythe made the eye patch for me a while ago with her 49ers duct tape.

Thursday’s Thoughts – 4/04/2013

Welcome to April. This is a special month for me because it is the month my daughter was born. It is also the month Giselle was born so now I have multiple reasons to be greatful for April. Here are my thoughts.

Blythe was born 15 years ago on April 3rd. I cannot believe my baby is 15. She is growing up so fast. I am so blessed to have her in my life.

We had a family party for her last night that was wonderful. Good conversation and good food. Blythe would add good presents and terrific cake to that list. Here is a picture of her cake, or at least a piece of her cake.

Thursdays Thoughts – 3/14/2013

Another week passes by. They seem to go pretty fast lately. I wonder if that is becuase I have a few things to look forward to in the next month. Myabe it is just the way time works. Who knows. here are my thoughts today.

Well my Niners sure made a good move and got what I believe is a steal. They traded a 6th round draft pick to the Ravens for Anquain Boldin. Call me crazy, but I think it is crazy for a team to trade a huge reason they just won the Superbowl and especially for such a low pick.

I know, it is a business and you need to make tough decisions and I know Boldin refused to take a pay cut, but still. I am thrilled for it, though, because I belive my Niners just got a lot tougher. Boldin still has a few good years left in him and he can snatch that ball out of the air with CB’s drapped all over him. Kaepernick must be jumping for joy.

Happy Holidays 2012

I have had happy holidays so far. I missed the traditional Cookie Day because I was really sick but Christmas Eve and Christmas were both wonderful, filled with family, laughter and love.

Christmas Eve was spent at my house out back. We were blessed to have beautiful weather considering it is the end of December. It was a clear night with only a slight breeze and the temperature was just fine.

We had a fire in the fire pit and we all sat around it and ate dinner and then opened gifts. Our backyard was adorned with many Christmas lights so we didn’t even need to use the flood lights to see. This is a sampling of the lights on one side of our yard.

There was lots of chatter and laughter. There were about 14 of us so there were different conversations going on at the same time but the joy and happiness spread throughout all of us. It was truly a terrific night just hanging out with family around the fire.

Thanksgiving 2012

Happy Thanksgiving

I feel so blessed at this time in my life. A few short months ago I was not looking at things in a grateful way but all that has changed now. I am so thankful that it is never too late to start over.

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving hanging out with my family at my parents house. We played pictionary, my team kicked butt and won all three rounds we played. There was lots of conversation and a ton of laughter.

We had an interesting but very tasty Turducken instead of the traditional Turkey. A Turducken is a de-boned turkey stuffed with a de-boned duck which is stuffed with a de-boned chicken. It was rather interesting. Ours also had cajun sausage stuffing in it as well. I liked the three birds but the stuffing wasn’t too great.

Of course we all ate too much but it was a truly wonderful evening. I am so thankful for my family.

I have so much to be thankful for that I couldn’t even begin to list them all. I will say how thankful I am for all the struggles in my life because they brought me to where I am now and gave me the strength to act and make changes in my life.

I hope that everyone takes a moment to send all their thanks out into the universe. You just never know what might come back to you.
