The two paintings shown in this post have been accepted into the Sedona Art Festival 2017. I am so excited. This was the first juried process I have applied to and the first art festival I have tried to get my paintings into. I submitted three paintings to the jury and they chose two of the three to be in the festival.

The first painting was done with Bumblebee Jasper. At the time I painted it, it was the largest painting I had done at 18×24. It was such a joy to paint it and I actually love it, which is rare for me. The second is one that I did with my nephew. I did my normal painting with the energy of crystals, using Mexican Fire Opal. Then my nephew took it and using various mediums he pulled out and defined what he saw in the abstract painting. This one is 16×16.

We are both so excited to have been accepted into the Sedona Art Festival which is on October 7 and 8, 2017. Our paintings will be for sale in the Fine Arts Gallery of the festival. This is the first year they have opened up a juried gallery to help allow more artists to have their art in the festival.

It is a fantastic opportunity for us artists who are not quite set up yet to do an entire booth. I have learned that there is a lot that goes into doing an entire booth and I am not ready for that yet. I am so thrilled to still be able to take part in the festival.

I moved up to Cottonwood, just outside of Sedona, in order to focus more on my art and start getting my art out there so this is the first step. If you happen to be in the Sedona, AZ area on October 7 and 8, stop by the Fine Arts Gallery and say hi.
