Well, this week’s thoughts are a day late. My biggest thought is that without going to my previous job, routine has gone out of the window. And I enjoy that. Here are my thoughts.
I have been having a wonderful time doing what I want when I want and not being tied down to time or any real routine. I know I went from one end of the spectrum to the other quickly but it has been great.
As I search for new opportunities I realize that right now I am living day to day, moment to moment, and it is glorious. I do have things on the calendar that I am aware of but they are not consuming me. I simply deal with them as they arrive.
Maybe this is the lesson I needed to learn and getting laid off was the teacher. This is a way of living I will continue even when new opportunities present themselves.
I find it hard to believe but yesterday I started getting my swamp cooler back into running condition. I did not expect to be dealing with this until June or later but it got up in the 90’s in my house yesterday.
I have the windows open all the time, the ceiling fans are on and I have my heater set to the cool setting. What that does it really just filter air in from the outside. It has been really nice outside but in my manufactured home the heat just sticks.
I took a packaged of peanut butter cups out of the fridge yesterday and ate two of them and then left the package sitting on my end table. Ten minutes I picked them up to put them back in the fridge and they were liquid.
Sitting in my house I was sweating. The back of my hair was wet. The ice in my cup melted rather quickly. My thermometer stated it was 92 inside my house. It was not as hot outside, but like I said, the heat just sticks in the house.
I need to get some parts to get the cooler working and that is something I will do today. It is just weird that it is so early in the year, but what can you do.
Tonight Blythe is having a sleepover party with her friends for her birthday. She will turn 15 on Wednesday. I doubt that her and her friends will get much sleeping done. 🙂 They are teenagers after all.
Wednesday we will have a family dinner to celebrate her birthday. Then next Saturday I am taking her to Gaslight Theater where we will see Arizona Smith. Gaslight is a terrific place with spoof plays. The one we are seeing is a spoof of Indiana Jones. It is always a fun entertaining evening.
Trying to reconcile this new path I am on with being a parent and realizing that Blythe has her own path is an interesting journey but I am working on it. Hard to believe my baby is going to be 15.
Thanks for reading. Peace, and have a terrific weekend.
